I am Danielle, London based fashion stylist, freelance fashion consultant, reiki master healer, intuitive tarot reader and enthusiastic vegan baker.
I have worked in fashion my whole career, with over 20 years of experience in the industry, starting out as a teenager working in one of UK’s most iconic designer fashion stores, where I worked with brands such as Dolce and Gabbana, Versace, Diesel and Helmut Lang.
From this I moved to London running the showrooms for big fashion brands such as Ted Baker, Danish label DAY, Birger et Mikkelsen and cool Scandinavian brand mbyM, working with buyers from department stores such as Harvey Nichols, Selfridges, Net-a-Porter and key independent boutiques across the UK and internationally. I then opened my own boutique, became a fashion buyer, worked with inspiring labels such as Vivienne Westwood, Victoria Beckham, Alice and Olivia, Zoe Karssen and Lulu Guinness. This included frequently travelling to Copenhagen, Paris and New York fashion week, going to fashion shows, spotting up and coming brands to introduce to retail buyers and to sell in the boutique. I have worked with TV shows and high profile private clients and worked as a stylist for the UK’s biggest department store.
High heels and dresses are my style passion and signature look. My philosophy is ‘the higher the heel, the better you feel’ and no heel is too high in my book. You won’t ever catch me in shoes with anything less than a five inch heel anytime, day or night. At just shy of 5ft, the same height as my icon, Kylie Minogue, high heels are a necessity and I credit myself with being exceptionally skilled at walking in incredibly high heels, Christian Louboutin, YSL and Jimmy Choo being my most favourite brands.
Equally, I am only ever seen in a dress (or high waisted skirt and shirt combo) with the exception of a gym class, PT or Reformer Pilates class, but I can guarantee the ‘activewear’ will be discarded and removed as soon as the class is over (I am SO not one of those people who looks or feels good in activewear) and normal dress service is immediately resumed.
‘Give Good Dress’ the name and the idea for the blog was born from a conversation with a friend (thanks Vic) ‘you do give good dress Danielle’ when discussing the most popular question I am asked by friends and clients is where to find the perfect dress. The dress for work, the dress for every day, the perfect denim dress, the shirt dress, the dress for the races, wedding guest dress, party dress, holiday dress and every day dress.
So here it is my blog and guide on how to ‘Give Good Dress’
not just limited to dresses, there will be skirts, the perfect pair of jeans guide, the capsule seasonal wardrobe, the best fitting trousers, the amazing accessories, make up, hair styling, full outfits and looks galore, peppered of course with tales of my life in London, work, styling, friends, family, loves, exercise, restaurants, cocktails, vegan muffins, travel, reiki, tarot, crystals, nights out and shoes…lots of shoes!
Enjoy, Danielle x
